Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to Net Zero by 2050

ITS is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 across Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

To date ITS’s environmental strategy has been centred around seeking opportunities to track
and reduce paper, electricity and gas emissions from its buildings.
Background

We are disclosing, in the tables below, our baseline greenhouse gas emissions for Scope 1
and 2 initially, with an objective of seeking opportunities to improve throughout 2025.
In 2024 and early 2025, as part of an overall business plan, ITS sold its large legacy primary
site with a view to expand on remote/hybrid working for all employees, using a new, fit for
purpose, smaller, more modern and energy efficient premises for employee collaboration.
ITS is ISO14001:2015 certified and has been since certified ISO14001 since 2008. It’s key
objective to monitor and reduce electricity, gas and paper.

Ongoing Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Late 2024 and Q1 of 2025, ITS started the decommissioning of its local physical datacentres.
This exercise includes the removal of multiple physical devices, communication hardware and
software, physical hosts, servers and all supporting environmental utilities, such as UPS and
Air Conditioning unit which contributed to the makeup of the datacentres.
Where we hosted our customers, their systems and data, we initiated a migration plan to Cloud
based technologies, making ITS more efficient and sustainable. These Scope 3 emissions will
become more measurable throughout 2025 and beyond, once fully implemented.
The baseline tables for 2023 and 2024 below, illustrate our Scope 1 emissions for gas for
heating purposes, and Scope 2 from lighting and powering hosts, servers and associated
computers.

We were unable to collate 2023, 2024(H1) Scope 3 baseline emissions, as supplier
management relationship during this period was not with ITS but via previous parent organised
facilities management company. 2025 Q1 saw the first migration of customer base to the
Cloud based data centres.

ITS maintains a fluorinated greenhouse gas register, as a result of its air conditioning units
cooling server rooms, and ensures that these units are inspected, maintained and tested by a
Gas certified supplier.

We plan to illustrate a reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions during Q3 and Q4 2025.
Whilst we fully understand our Scope 3 emissions will rise with further customer migration to
Microsoft Data Centres.

* Note due to a change in parent organisation, through the sale of the company, ITS could not
establish baseline Scope 3 emissions for 2023. We consider 2024 data to be a starting point
for improvement, a partial baseline, which we will gradually expand over time as data becomes
available and our data collection methods mature.

tenancy, detached from its parent company.

Looking Forward

Reduce carbon emissions by 25% by 2030

ITS consider this a supportable target towards the overall aim of NetZero by 2050.
2025 calendar year, Quarter 1 values below illustrate our current Scope 1 and 2 emissions,
until we vacate the primary site by the end of June 2025. We have added Scope 3 transferred
(removed) actual to end of Quarter 1 and estimated emissions for the remainder of 2025.
The secondary site is predicted to remain for the management of development and testing
environments until the end of 2025, with a view to collocating in early 2026 again in a more
modern, efficient and sustainable 3rd party site.

The secondary site is using Scope 2 emissions which have been included in our totals and
target. Scope 1 emissions in the form of diesel for heating, have never been declared by the
building owner. We will continue to include the secondary site Scope 1 and 2 emissions until
end of 2025 when this property will also be vacated.

Scope 3 emissions from the use of 3rd party supplier Microsoft, to whom we transferred
(removed) our infrastructure and data, has been added below. The target reflects the
estimated emissions by 2025-year end, when all remaining hosted clients from the secondary
site have been migrated.

As we are moving premises and decommission our datacentres, by end of 2025 we will be
declaring Scope 1, Scope 2 and 3 emissions

Zero Waste

To counter and as part of continuous improvement ITS continue to advocate paperless offices.
Our 3rd party asset disposal service, whilst secure, offer sustainability and compliance,
increasing the re-use potential of our equipment and components, whilst contributing to the
circular economy.

Targets include the removal of all but essential communications equipment by the end of 2025,
with a view to have a minimal setup in the new premises.

Corporate Responsibility
ITS plan to offset their emissions by partnering with the Heritage Trust, an environmental
agency in Northern Ireland. We intend to engage in the initiatives offered through this
relationship. ITS will calculate this offset as part of its ongoing objectives towards net zero in
2050.

Our Staff
Our employees are at the core of our sustainability journey. Their commitment to future
initiatives includes using volunteer days to undertake environmental workshops and events
including cleaning of Northern Ireland rivers and coastal waters and the planting of trees, at
cost to ITS, in order to further offset its Scope 3 emissions.
